Carli Breed
Who is Carli
I am a dedicated Registered Clinical Counsellor in good standing with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (#22005). With a fervent focus on personal and community resilience, my journey to becoming a clinical counsellor and psychotherapist was inspired by my diverse career experiences, notably my time in East Africa caring for infants, children, and young people.
From rural South Africa, I bring a flexible multicultural perspective to my practice, being fluent in English, Afrikaans, proficient in Dutch, and developing in French. This linguistic diversity underscores my commitment to creating safe and inclusive spaces for my clients, where personal and cultural adversities can be explored with sensitivity and understanding.
Informed by the belief that vulnerability is intricately tied to trust and connection, I approach my work with a compassionate and collaborative spirit. I listen attentively to my clients’ narratives, aiming to unearth the root causes of their suffering, such as anxiety, depression, or grief. Grounded in evidence-based practices, I integrate elements of play therapy and body psychotherapy into my treatment approach, facilitating healing and empowering my clients to reclaim their voices and their agency.
My ultimate aim is to strengthen my clients’ capacities to live authentically and purposefully, fostering a sense of integrity and freedom in their lives. Through my work, I endeavor to help individuals not only find their voice but to utilize it in a way that honors their truth and enables them to lead fulfilling and meaningful lives.
